The Horomitoge Lavender Garden (Horomi mountain pass) has been developed since 1987. The garden began with 120 lavenders and there are 5000 lavenders today.

The Lavender Garden is one of the rare gems of Sapporo with its excellent view and the extensive stretches of lavender. After a long day of walking through the purple colored flowers, you can buy the lavender essential oils for a reasonable price in the Yume Koubou Satou.

The lavender garden is only open during the mid of July to the early of August, about 20 ~ 25 days. The garden will close for the rest of the day while the car park observatory is only close during winter.

The Horomitoge car park observatory open until 1:30am (closed 2:00am). Offering you a long hour chance to see a fantastic night view of Sapporo city. The scene is a certified Japan night view heritage, so you can feel another type of night view experience.

Access:

The only way to get here is by car. It’s about a 30 minute drive west of downtown Sapporo via local roads from the Maruyama Park area. It can be a bit hard to find, so is best suited to the adventurous and those with good car navigation systems.

Opening hour:

Lavender garden 9:00 to 17:00 (Date waiting to confirm, usually around July 15~July 31).

 

City view car park : Morning shift 10:00am to 17:00pm. Night shift 18:00pm to 01:30am (gate close at 02:00am).

500Yen for the parking
